It was a very noble act by the Department of Counselling and Special Education at DPS North Bangalore , to bring in the special educators of the city on a platform to share knowledge in the capacity building workshop to empower and develop the children with difficulties.
Best practices on ‘Classroom intervention and modification for children with Autism in inclusive setup ‘ by Ms.Sharbani from Bubbles Centre for Autism brought in a great insight to everyone present there.
Back and forth discussion in the open session indeed brought up a good deal of behavioural concerns with the special children in the classroom in an integrated and inclusive setup. The best practices shared thereby were of great help and I am sure each one of us carried home some learning from this gathering.
It was very impressive to see DPS Bangalore North doing such a great deal in empowering the special children in its true sense through various innovative programmes carried out by its Department of Counselling and Special Education all through the year.
Heads of various organisations working towards empowering the disabled population, coming together on a single platform was a unique opportunity to work in collaboration for a bright future of this special population. It was such an immense pleasure meeting likeminded people.
And to me, the learning of the day was from those little stars of the school choir who meant it with conviction, when they sang ” HIMMAT KARNE WALON KI KABHI HAAR NAHI HOTI”.
